Description: Monuments of Karakol culture: barrows with circular enclosures and some burials in the stone boxes and ground grave-pits closed with massive stone slabs and also petroglyths have been found in Altai. Some researchers believed the slabs with the pictures and round hollows or holes to belong to this culture. There were also ritual inhumations. The inventory is not frequently found. The slabs of stone boxes represent the red, black and white coloured pictures of anthropomorphous creatures with the crowns from feathers or with the horns, in the anthropomorphous masks and also with the ornaments of the costumes and sleeves. The pictures of birds, goats, elks and people made by cutting point technique have been found in the culture.
